Introducing Argus Beacon: Behavioral Health Provider Locator

January 2026

A configurable platform that helps state residents find mental health and substance use services in their communities.

Argus Beacon behavioral health provider locator interface

Finding behavioral health services shouldn't be difficult, especially during a crisis. Yet for residents in many states, locating appropriate mental health or substance use treatment means navigating fragmented directories, outdated information, and confusing interfaces.

Argus Beacon addresses this gap. Built specifically for state behavioral health administrations, Beacon is a public-facing platform that connects residents, families, and healthcare providers with behavioral health programs across the state.

Designed for Accessibility

Beacon is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards and supports configurable multilingual content for the populations each state serves. The platform ensures that residents with disabilities can navigate and use the system effectively.

A guided search wizard helps users find services based on what they need help with, who they're seeking care for, their location, and their insurance coverage. Advanced filtering allows searches by treatment type, therapeutic approach, populations served, and telehealth availability.

Real-Time Provider Information

Unlike static directories, Beacon maintains current information about provider availability. Behavioral health organizations can update their profiles, indicate whether they're accepting new patients, and manage wait time estimates directly through a provider self-service portal.

The platform supports integration with existing state health information systems, creating a more complete picture of care options across the continuum from outpatient services to crisis care.

Focused on Health Equity

Beacon explicitly tracks services designed for specific communities and marginalized populations. Users can search for providers offering culturally responsive care for LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, first responders, indigenous communities, and specific cultural groups.

For state administrators, Beacon provides analytics on service coverage by county, language availability, and gaps in culturally competent care. These insights support policy decisions and resource allocation to address disparities in behavioral health access.

Configurable for Your State

Beacon is designed for rapid deployment with state-specific configuration. Service taxonomies, provider verification workflows, and administrative controls can be tailored to each state's regulatory requirements and operational needs.

The platform joins the Argus family of human services solutions, leveraging shared infrastructure for compliance, security, and long-term maintainability.
