Argus Pulse is a cloud-hosted platform that ingests automatic passenger counter (APC) data from systems like Clever Devices, Dilax, Eurotech, and Infodev, processes it through configurable validation rules, and produces NTD-compliant ridership reports. The system covers data ingestion, trip matching, route analytics, API access, and reporting across an agency's transit network.

Platform Capabilities

Argus Pulse provides end-to-end capabilities for APC data processing, from raw sensor ingestion through NTD-compliant reporting. Each module operates within a unified data model that connects routes, trips, stops, and ridership metrics.

Data Ingestion & Processing

Automated SFTP ingestion from major APC vendors including Clever Devices, Dilax, Eurotech, and Infodev. Trip matching against GTFS schedules, stop-level boarding and alighting aggregation, and configurable processing pipelines.

Data Validation & Quality

Configurable validation rules through the Policy & Validation Center. Define thresholds for zero-count trips, negative loads, capacity exceedances, and boarding/alighting imbalances with impact previewing.

NTD Reporting

Generate NTD-compliant metrics including Unlinked Passenger Trips (UPT), Passenger Miles Traveled (PMT), Revenue Miles, and Revenue Hours. Configurable factoring and sampling support.

Route Analytics

Route-level ridership analysis with interactive maps, stop-level boarding and alighting visualizations, on-time performance distributions, and trend analysis across time periods.

REST API

24+ endpoints covering routes, trips, stops, ridership metrics, and NTD data. OAuth2/JWT authentication, OpenAPI documentation, and comprehensive code examples for integration.

Policy & Validation Center

The Policy & Validation Center is where agencies define the rules that govern data quality. Administrators configure validation categories, set thresholds, preview the impact of rule changes before applying them, and maintain version history for audit purposes.

Validation Categories: Organize rules by type — zero-count detection, negative load checks, capacity exceedance, boarding/alighting imbalance, and custom agency-specific validations.

Impact Preview: Before activating a new validation rule, preview how many trips and records would be affected. Understand the downstream impact on ridership metrics and NTD reporting.

Version History: Every policy change is versioned and timestamped. Roll back to previous configurations and maintain a complete audit trail of validation rule changes.
